HEAD, INTERNAL AUDIT AND CONTROL
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Leading and participating in audit reviews, delivering audit outputs including final reports within agreed timescales and in accordance with internal audit standard. These entail;
Executing the audit assignment within the agreed budget
Complying with international internal audit standards in terms of the quality and systematic approach to planning and assignments
Planning audit assignments based on key processed and business risks identified, and designing the audit program in line with risks and key controls to be tested
Raising queries/recommendations for the exceptions observed on best practice
Liaising with external auditors and follow up on audit queries
Expressing opinions based on the results of the work performed
Supervising other internal auditors involved in the assignment and reviewing their deliverables
Performing follow-up audits on high risk findings where applicable
Ensuring efficient and effective execution of audit work to enable timely completion of reports for submission to management
Monitoring and reporting on the effectiveness of the company’s control environment including quality compliance on management of budgetary and extra budgetary resources
Liaising with/reporting to members if the audit committee
Competence and skills
Good strategic skills
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Conversant with key accounting packages and computer assisted auditing techniques
Honesty and reliability
Excellent planning, organizational, communication and reporting skills
Qualifications and Requirements
B.Sc in accounting/accountancy/business administration/economics
A professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA
MBA is an added advantage
Minimum of 10 years relevant experience
INVENTORY CONTROLLER
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Developing the company’s inventory management strategy with the aim to control cost within budgetary limits, generating saving, rationalizing inventory and maximizing available working capital
Managing and maintaining the company’s material and stock inventory including stock profiles and stock locations
Managing and controlling perpetual inventory stock count/inventory accuracy checks
Ensuring that all warehouses/depots are well organized and controlled to sufficiently support production, sales and the goals of the business
Ensuring incoming products are receipted and managed appropriately according to the company procedures
Ensuring that any materials that are late or holding up production or sales for whatever reasons are followed-up until received
Implementing improvement processes and systems to reduce inventory, minimize costs and maximize working capital
Write and maintain accurate written procedures for all main inventory control processes and functions
Ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the stock management system
Producing regular and periodic reports to ensure key critical areas of the stock system are controlled and any discrepancies are addressed and resolved
Competencies and Skills
Ideally possesses the relevant professional qualifications and/or suitable background experience in inventory management
Detailed understanding of SAGE ERP or other relevant software in inventory control/management systems
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Qualifications and Requirements
Good first degree in any of the following disciplines (Accounting, Accountancy, Business Administration, Economics, Actuarial Science)
Relevant professional qualifications
Minimum of 10 years cognate experience in a well structured organization
