Microfinance Bank Recruits Chief Finance Officer

The Positio

Reporting to the Managing Director, this position will be responsible for formulating and implementing sound financial policies, strategies and systems

Principal Accountabilities

Management of the financial function and maintenance of the bank’s books of account and implementation
Formulating the organization’s financial strategy and ensuring it is properly implemented
Formulating, implementing and maintaining sound financial and administrative policies, procedures and systems to sustain the organization
Review analysis of budgets, costs and operations and status of ongoing programmes to determine progress and act on deviations
Cash planning to ensure availability of funds to implement planned activities
Ensure observance of internal controls, ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures
Ensuring compliance with legal and fiscal regulations.

The Person

For the above position, the successful applicant should have:

A master’s degree in Finance and Accounting, or similar qualifications with at least 5 years of Senior management experience in a bank or retail financial institution or a first degree (BSc/HND) from a recognised institution in, accounting, finance or similar qualifications with at least 7 years experience in a bank or retail financial institution
Professional membership of ICAN (ACA) or ACCA is a MUST
6 years experience in Financial Control
Possession of an MBA in relevant field will have an added advantage
Experience in banking operations, or in a compliance environment with an appreciation of risk management processes and environment. Knowledge of bank-wide business functions including Operations, Credit (Evaluation and Administration), etc as well as knowledge of Microfinance products and services
Good understanding of regulatory requirements, Basel II business line classification and general banking procedures
