Division: Finance Operations
Reports To: Head-Finance Operations
Job Summary:
Manage company-wide marketing and general expenditure/ payment cycle, as well as supervise commitments/ liabilities recognition process for marketing and general transactions
Ensure an efficient management system for marketing and general suppliers
Co-ordinate the Accounts Payable (Marketing and General team) function in line with the organization’s established policies and processes
Principal Functions:
Provide leadership in guiding Finance Operations staff and other internal stakeholders on periodic internal and external audits and other statutory and regulatory requirements
Manage effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders on marketing and general payment issues
Keep abreast of global and local best practice as it relates to the unit’s activities
Manage required resources (personnel and others) to achieve the unit’s goals
Monitor financial procedures and controls in the light of identified risks and gaps
Demonstrate appreciable working knowledge of NCC, NOTAP, CBN rules and regulations pertaining to the telecommunications industry
Identify operational risks and standard financial controls on the Oracle ERP system relating to Accounts Payable
Manage customer (internal) and supplier relationships effectively
Monitor an enhanced financial transaction posting process to ensure that the company’s financial information is of agreed quality and integrity
Co-ordinate the reconciliation of the marketing and general supplier sub-ledgers
Collaborate with the other departments (excluding Technical) within Etisalat Nigeria to ensure that all financial obligations are put forward as and when due
Ensure all marketing and general expenditure are adequately recorded and paid as and when due
Manage the implementation of account payable process and policy
Ensure completeness and accuracy of supplier ledger accounts
Develop and maintain an effective relationship with the external auditors to support external financial reporting, audit and tax requirements
Co-ordinate relevant business divisions’ input into the company accrual/commitments schedules
Understand and ensure compliance with Foreign Exchange regulations
Initiate and monitor a process that adequately tracks all marketing and general expenditure & payments requests
Co-ordinate staff activities within the marketing and general team
Develop team members via coaching and on-the job training
Responsible for month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes and provision of month-end schedules as requested
Provide support to various business divisions and regions on financial issues and maintain commercial relationships with external stakeholders
Ensure the provision of top class customer service for all internal and external customers
Ensure compliance with Etisalat Nigeria MTS policies and processes, IFRS, IAS and GAAP
Ensure adequate training and development of team members to upgrade their skills and knowledge
Provide periodic and ad hoc reports to senior management for strategic decision making
Educational Requirements: A first degree in any discipline, but a finance and management-related degree is desirable. Relevant professional qualification (ICAN, CIMA, CFA, ACCA). Relevant postgraduate degree may be an advantage
Experience & Skills: Minimum of 6 years post-NYSC work experience in core accounting functions and finance operations with at least 3 years in a supervisory role. Ideal candidate must possess high ethical standards and values, be able to manage complexity, multi-task and work independently in operational situations. He/ she must also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, good leadership and presentation skills, strong team building skills, good problem-solving skills; as well as demonstrate ability to efficiently organize work activities and excel under pressure. Working knowledge of accounting principles and practice must also be proven/ demonstrated.
